Communications Network

GOAL: The goal of this segment of the FIA Ranch project is to remove the boundaries of communications typically inherent in "remote" locations. An integrated communications network will facilitate all communications and control of the property, either locally, or from any remote location. Regardless of any differences in underlying hardware, software, and networking technologies, the use and management of the communications network will be unified to the user.

CURRENT CONCEPT VIEW: The entire compound will utilize the technologies generally available under the heading of “Broadband Integration". These will include:
1) Centralized connection and distribution of all communications and entertainment equipment and appliances:
          · Satellite provided television
          · Antenna provided television
          · Satellite provided audio entertainment
          · Antenna provided audio entertainment
          · Satellite provided Internet access
          · Telephone Key System utilizing AMPS Cellular telephone service for PSTN access. Depending on current, and future, technology capabilities, restrictions, and service offerings of the satellite service providers, Internet telephone service utilizing Voice Over IP (VOIP) is contemplated and may also be deployed.
2) Centralized management and control of all support systems:
          · HVAC System
          · Water supply system
          · Lighting system
          · Security system
          · Life Safety & Facility Protection systems
          · Power monitoring and management system
3) All management and control systems will be computer based.
4) All management and control systems will be web-enabled, including remote access management.

The detailed design of various segments of the communications network will evolve as the project evolves.
