Electrical Service & System |
| An extensive work
plan has been compiled to complete the electrical system. Following are
the various files that comprise this system. PLEASE READ The files on this page will be opened in a Max View window. There are two methods for returning to normal browser operation, depending on your browser type and version. 1. If you have
the normal red "X" in the upper
right hand corner of the window, simply
click on 2. If you do not have the red "X" in the upper right-hand corner, close the window using the Alt+F4 keys on your keyboard. |
| Electrical System
Design Overview: The
electrical system is designed as a pyramid, or cascade system. There will
be a number of panels and sub-panels in the system. In addition, service
control and monitoring will be included. This will be incorporated into
the overall control system for the entire compound.

| Commercial Service Feed
Sizing: When
a new home is constructed, an electrical plan must be developed in order to
determine the approximate amount of electricity that will be required from the
electric company that serves the home. The "size" of the
service, how to calculate the demand, and all other requirements for electrical
service and wiring are contained in the "National Electric Code".
Got insomnia? Read that
book!!! OR should I say, TRY to read that book.
Nothing better than trying to decipher bureaucratic red tape!! But, when
all is said and done, it does make sure that the structure is safe from
electrical danger. Based
on the calculations and assumptions, the service ordered from the power company
will be 120/240V, 200A, 1-Phase.

|
Stand-by Generator Sizing: The commercial electric power service is all aerial cable. Based on that fact, the probability of electrical outages during the winter is significant. So we will be installing a standby electrical generator to operate some basic necessities during any such outage. The generator sizing worksheet is based on the values of the overall requirements calculations. |
